We are taking immediate steps to address this issue including engaging with Pest Control and reducing shrub density in key areas.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We need your cooperation to effectively manage and eliminate this problem.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why Rats Are an Issue:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Health Risks<\/strong>: Rats can carry diseases that are harmful to humans, such as leptospirosis \/ Weil\u2019s disease, salmonella, and hantavirus.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Property Damage<\/strong>: Rats can cause significant damage to buildings by gnawing on electrical wires, insulation, and structural components.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Contamination<\/strong>: They can contaminate food and surfaces with their droppings and urine, posing a risk to health and hygiene.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Causes of Rat Infestations:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Food Sources<\/strong>: Improperly stored food, overflowing garbage bins, and pet food left outside can attract rats.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Shelter<\/strong>: Cluttered areas, overgrown vegetation, and accessible entry points in buildings provide ideal nesting sites for rats.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Water Sources<\/strong>: Leaking pipes, standing water, and pet water bowls can provide the necessary hydration for rats to thrive.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How You Can Help:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Proper Waste Management<\/strong>: Ensure all garbage is securely stored in the communal wheelie bins with tight-fitting lids. Please refrain from storing rubbish bags in flats or stairwells even for a short duration. (Any bins with a missing lid should be reported to the Council referencing the rat issues as justification) \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Seal Entry Points<\/strong>: Check your property for any holes or gaps and seal them to prevent rats from entering.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Remove Clutter<\/strong>: Keep your surroundings clean and free of clutter where rats can hide.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Report Sightings<\/strong>: If you see any rats or signs of infestation, please report it to the factor immediately.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our community safe and clean.
